cooling cooling cooling
Warning to all you water-coolers out there...it is important to keep some air flowing over the CPU area (RAM, PWM IC, etc.). I thought that the 3 case fans would be enough, but it is not. That fan that is usually blowing down on the heatsink really can make a difference to the nearby components.
After rigging up a pair of quiet fans over my RAM my PWM IC temps dropped into the low 40's (under healthy OC) and my RAM also became much more stable (those TCCD really start to smoke without air flowing over them.
Anyways...got that sorted out....thanks for your posts guys. Now I gott figure out why I'm getting unstable past 280. |

| the pwm area is the hotest in ma case... with stock cooling it was up to 60'c ... now newer goes to 50, but i've got a loot of air coming through my case (2 low speed 120 fans) a lot of space and well arranged cables in my case |

Scotty, which BIOS version are you using? Up until this morning when I flashed from the 623 to the 704-2BTA BIOS my temps were CPU 22, chipset 35 and PWM IC 30 idle. Now they're all ~10c higher than before.
(Go here if you have any input, since I don't wanna hijack this thread.) |

| Ok, nevermind turns out it had nothing to do with the BIOS flash at all. I just had to reinstall MBM5 as it was suddenly reporting wrong. |
