Free defrag software, but you may get google ads in the program display, the current ads/links take you to IOBit's website, if it comes out of beta this may change. This is still Beta Software.

Well, based on the screenshot, I would say that that is unlikely to be true. So blatantly lying about including adware doesn't exactly inspire confidence in a program which is going to do low-level I/O operations on the hard disk.

As I said all the ad links currently in the program take you to IOBit's website, whether that will change in future we'll only know when the final version is released.

IOBit support forum

They have got there own support forum for the product and I've used it for the past couple of days and not had any problems running it.

I gotta agree with rk here. I reboot to the bare necessities when I plan on defragging.

This isn't to say that it isn't a good SW. Only that I prefer that my CPU not be bothered while such critical disk I/O is being attended.

Well,

Thats just ugly, and quite frankly, how is it safe, when it has ad's in it. I mean, whats stopping an ad loading, then launching pop-ups.

It's probably free because it's more than likely just a front-end added to the Windows XP Disk Defragmenter COM Component.

Think I will stick to O&O Defrag 8 Pro.

You'll think that (if you haven't already) about lots of the random crap stidyup brings up.

Greetings!

No one forces you to install any of that software, Seawolf.

Just me huh? Why not say that to AndyR too then?
I was just talking.
(And you know, I noticed that myself.)

I will just say this: a 3rd party defrag app was the only defrag app I have ever seen crash a NT based system.

Someone enlighten me please (no sarcasm here, I'm serious): what are the benefits of say O&O Defrag or similar products over Windows builtin defrag? I know you can't defrag the pagefile (and registry?) with the builtin defrager, but are there any other benefits?
