Greetings!
"But if any company can go down the wrong path for five years and still come out on top, it’s Intel.

By now we’ve hopefully stressed the importance of Yonah, and there’s just one more detail to mention - we have one."

My understanding is that DDR uses more power than DDR2. Am I correct?

Well, if DDR and DDR2 feed off of the same rail, then you still have your answer. |

with a lower core voltage the power consumption is 'generally' less
this site has a descent assumption, I was reading the forums on how he got these numbers |

Greetings!
So, somewhat back on topic, the difference on the systems reviewed by Anand are the motherboard, the CPU (one has more cache and made in 65nm, the other has a memory controller, 64bits and still on 90nm) and the RAM.

Who would've thought? Intel is competitive again after 4 or 5 years of abstinence (in the desktop area)... And it's gonna be even more interesting once they switch to on-die memory controllers *yummy* |
