Couldn't find a recent thread on this so I'm starting one.
It's hot here now and I'm getting temps in the low 60C's on that PWM IC. Note I'm running 1.6V and 2800 MHz (280x10). Putting a fan blowing on the area didn't help much...just want to know if others are seeing similar temps. |

When I was originally using the stock HSF my PWM IC was in the low 50's. Once I installed an XP-90 it's usually the same as my CPU, currently folding@home with a room temp of 21c, my PWM IC is at 34c, and CPU is at 37c..  That's at stock. When room gets to around 30, CPU and PWM around 40.
So for me, the bigger fan on the CPU moved enough air around it to cool it way off.

with stock hsf...around 46-48c...
with xp90c...41c...temps also taken whilst folding...is in the mid-30s, iir, otherwise...
239x10, 1.5v on a dfi 250gb.

According to mine it sits after 30 mins browsing/general use -
CPU- 37
PWM - 44
Chipset - 46
Thats at 11x220 at 1.36V
Standard chipset cooler and stock HSF with one 80mm extractor and one 80mm sucking. |

44c at full 24/7 load but only running 225 x 10  ....so barely relevant |

| Right now 44C, that's with stock cooler. Case is Antec Superlanboy (120mm in, 120mm out). Now the case is open, but when it's closed it drops to 42/43C. Temps are full load (folding!), with CPU @ ~2.4GHz, 1.5v |

It makes vcore. It's the big IC with like 20 legs on it just above the CPU socket (on my nf3-250). The higher your vcore, the warmer it gets.
Scotty, if I run around 1.6 vcore and it's hot in here my PWM will get into the mid 50's. At 1.7 it starts to hit 60 or so. I read at dfi-street.com that it can handle more than 60c so I wouldn't worry so much about it.
edit: here is the thread at dfi-street. it shows a picture of where it's at on the nf3-250.. not sure if different on nf4 tho.. At the end of the thread someone says its by the 24 pin power connector on nf4 so who knows..

Yes, I can see it. It is directly above the 4Pin ATX connector. What about those R60 chips by the sinked mosfets. Aren't those mosfets too? Could they use any cooling when being overvolted
