Hi All

Over the last day I have had problems with my ethernet adapter the 1 in question is my onboard nVidia nForce ethernet adapter. On my nForce4 I was using the 6.86 driver package and all was fine came here to ask about the new 15.17 package that just recently come out.

And they work for all nForce motherboards so I upgraded them but I think it maybe causing the problem, My ethernet montor icon gives me the ! mark and says limited or no connectivity & in event viewer I get this everytime I cold boot.

"Your computer has automatically configured the IP address for the Network Card with network address 00115BC48F4E. The IP address being used is xxx.xxx.xx.xx.

The DHCP is handled automatically by my NetGear DG834GT Modem/Router I have Zone Alarm Free Edition firewall and that had no problems before. Would it just be best to revert back to the old drivers? there's no problems they all work just this DHCP thing problem.

And sometimes it dosn't happen the number on my router when my PC is off shows it as orange but it never used to do that.

The internet is working perfectly even with it but could I be switching on the router and PC at the same time and not giving the router enough time to assign IP address. When I get to my desktop the router is green across the board that it's dialed out ect.

Check in Control Panel that the drivers for this NIC are all 15.17.

I'd read somewhere that you should always uninstall the nForce NIC drivers instead of simply upgrading them over an existing driver revision.
