Hard to tell, could be from something similar to the 'garage' mode on PGR3, but those pavement/pebble textures look genuine enough judging by the other pics in that thread. The lighting on some of those pics is just incredible though...
Polyphony Digital are generally masters with Playstation hardware (GT3/4 still looks good now) so hopefully this is just a small taste of what's in store.

Even more GT5 pics, 77 released by Sony :-

Still good stuff (though some of the ingame background details need some more polish), kinda puts the shizzle over Forza 2/PGR3/4...

GT5:Prologue confirmed @60fps/1080p :-
| Quote: |
| Yamauchi said that while working on the new hardware hadn't been easy, they are currently steady progress. During the planning stages for Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, Sony told us later, the resolution had been set at 1080i, but only a couple weeks after making that call, the team had a breakthrough that enabled them to hit 60 frames-per-second in 1080p during gameplay. Replays, however, will remain 30 fps at 1080p to allow Polyphony to add more layers of special effects. |
