|
|
|
My system :
Epox 9NDA3J Rev 2.1
3000 Winchester
1 gig ballistix
Antec 430
6A61CPAH Bios
I tried swapping out the 3000 for a FX55 San Diego and it won't power up. First time I press the power button the cpu fan spins for about a second and the HD LED will flash once. Nothing happens on subsequent attempts. The system works fine when I put the 3000 back in. I thought this would be a straight forward drop in. Are there any settings I should change to make this upgrade?
Thanks |

| Yes. I pulled the battery and set the cmos jumper to clear for about 10 minutes. Reinserted the battery and changed the cmos jumper back to normal. Same result. Tried moving the RAM around. When the PSU is cycled on/off I can get the cpu fan to come on for a second when I try to power up but that is all. |

| Its a new cpu so not sure it's functional. Is what I described how a dead cpu would affect the system? I would expect the thing to at least power up for more than a second. |

Since ya know it'll boot with the 3000, with the 55 in reduce the HW down to only MB, ram, video, kb, and mouse and attempt booting. |
