9NPA3 Ultra SATA Loses XP install

Hey all, can't remember when my last post was here but been trolling a lot since then Embarassed

Having an ongoing issue with my epox board. I've tried both a seagate 160GB and a WD 250GB (don't have model #s at the moment) and both have the same issue.

I can install XP just fine on both (both being SATA II drives), but after install, I either bluescreen and loop at the XP splash screen or it just loses the OS altogether.

As of right now, when it loses the OS, it still shows the drive in POST, just doesn't find the OS.

Really getting aggravated with installing every time I boot up. Any idea of a fix for this?

now that ur mentioning it, ive had that problem with my PC, and i had to compltely repartition the drive and reinstall fresh to sort it

Thanks for the reply.

Although, I don't know that it applies here. Each time I reinstalled I repartitioned. With a different OS partition size each time. No matter what the size or how often, I have the same issue.

You know you shouldn't need any SATA drivers prior ti XP install unless you're in RAID, right? I mean the F6-insert floppy disk variety of pre-install drivers...

Try without them.

edit- sorry, misread your "drives" as "drivers"
