Greetings!
Yep, sometimes we build a system just to be surprised how well it performs over the previous one. |

I know!
I'm just waiting on payday to buy Crysis. Can't wait to see how it runs. |

Hey whitedragon, I don't think your system has enough memory, you really need to get more! (LOL!?!) .. 8 gigs! w00t?
I just ran 3Dmark06 on my 8800 GTS, unhooked my SLi setup to get a score on just 'one' 8800 GTS so I can compare it against my 9600 GT when I hook it up, I scored 10,344 with it @ default clocks, and 10,612 with it overclocked just a little (540 mhz / 1622 mhz).
I wanted to compare it against another single 8800 GTS (old style), but it's a pain trying to sort out the single cards from the SLi setups. I wish FutureMark would give you that option in ORB, they should have a SLi section and single card section, or atleast let you seperate them if you want to, so you can tell how well you single card setup compares to other single card setups.
So.. is 10,344 and 10,612 decent for a single 8800 GTS?
Now it's time to put in the 9600 GT and run it.. I looked @ some reviews on the 9600 GT's, they look like they can run just as fast as the 8800 GTS's @ lower resolutions (800x600 and 1024x768), at higher res I guess the extra memory bandwidth and additional stream processors help the 8800's to pull ahead .. but we shall see soon! |

I would've got more, but the board only supports 8 gigs.
Those scores look good to me for a single 8800 GTS, AFIAK. |
