Ok, finally broke down and upgraded my system, but need some help with MBM. I have a GA-M61P-S3 with an AMD 64 X2 4000. I've tried loading MBM, but it always comes up with a driver not load and will not load. Anyone know a why to get it to run? The main reason I want it is I use CoolMon to show system stats on my desktop. Its a utility I've used for many years now and grew to love it. Now that I cant run it I feel lost (it uses MBM to show temps).
Thanks. |

i found the newer versions of MBM arnt that reliable.
ASUS Probe find my temperatures fine, MBM thinks my processor and board temps run between -6*c and over 147*c. |

I'd have to second that. MBM just doesn't work well on newer systems. I found some modded ini files or whatever they were to get it to work on my DFI but it would occasionally lock up my PC when I would load the proggy so I gave up on it and just use the crappy software (ITE Smart Guardian) that came with my board.
You could always try Speedfan on CoreTemp. CoreTemp will give you the actual internal temp of each CPU Core instead of just a 1 socket temp.. pretty sweet. However some people do report lockups from it on AMD system. |

Speedfan and Coretemp both report the same thing, about 11-13 on idle, which I know is impossible since the ambient temp of my room is about 21-24c. I've read that the on die thermal sensor for AMD isn't all that reliable since they didn't put much stock in perfecting it.
But, I was able to find out the onboard sensor of my mobo is the ITE8716F, so I tried the ITE8712F in MBM and it reports almost what my mobo reports, at least close enough that I can use it as an aprox temp, not that I can get a "true" temp reading anyway. |
