OK, it powers on, no beeps, but monitor says no signal, and my usb stuff isn't getting any power, but all the fans are goin. No post, nothin.
MSI diamond mbo am2 socket
2 gz kingston DDR2 800 ram
egeforce 7600 512 mb graphics card sli type.
AOC 17" lcd monitor.
Seagate 400 g. hdd.
AMD athlon x2 6000+ 3.0 gz cpu
ALL brand new.
Should I mess around with the ram placement?
Could the monitor CORD be bad?
HELP! I've got schoolwork to catch up on! |

try starting it with minimum hardware. vid card, 1 stick of mem, hs/fan and disconnect everything else.

tried all that, moved the ram around, yet everything is betting power except
usb, and still no signal to the monitor. No post, no boot, nada |

1. beg, borrow or buy($20) a digital multimeter and check the psu 12volt rail on a 4 wire molex.
2. reseat the cpu.
3. set the system up outside the case.

i had a problem like this with an ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe and a 6000+.
Asus claimed that it does support the chip with the bios that came with the board yet it didnt it needed a Bios update to support it.
my Board wouldnt even support the 4400+ and i only got it in april and i had to update the bios.
It could be bios |

Turns out,
the MSI k9n diamond I switched to from the asus m2n won't let you into bios unless you have a ps/2 keyboard, then you can get bios to 'wake up' usb controllers, as well as ide controllers. Why? what is the need for that? Anyway, had to do a fresh install of XP on a new drive. Works great so far. Too bad for Asus. |

i use a usb kvm and some boards, after clearing the bios will ignore the delete key. i've found by tapping the delete key, just before the 1st dos screen will get me to the bios.
