Freezing while VERIFYING DMI POOL DATA

Postby 6foot7 » Sun Jan 23, 2011 3:15 am

OK! Ithink I finally got WIN 7 to install on my raid setup. I wasn't able to install using RAID 0 so I used a RAID 1 (mirroring) instead. I had to use RAID 1 because of the limitations of WIN 7. It cannot be installed on a partition larger than 2TB. The problem I am having now is that during startup the screen freezes at the linE that says: VERIFYING DMI POOL DATA and it will not go any further.

NEED HELP!

EDIT by Fernando: The thread title has been changed by me to make the topic more specific.

Since your problem has nothing to do with the nForce drivers, this thread is off topic regarding this Forum.

Please look into >this< page. There you can find the possible causes for your issue and some solutions.
Most common reasons:
  • corrupted MBR
  • wrong BIOS settings ("HARD DISK BOOT PRIORITY" etc)
  • bad PSU (not strong enough)
  • too old BIOS battery
Another thought:
Maybe you forgot to break the RAID0 array before you created the RAID1 one. This is very important, because otherwise you will have 2 different data at the track zero of your RAIDed hdd's.

If you should need further help, please do a Google search for "VERIFYING DMI POOL DATA".

I am sorry if I posted in the wrong section, I posted here because I thought the problem might be a driver issue.

That's ok. I gave you some tips nevertheless.

Good luck!

I experienced this myself once.
It turns out, the Bios default, to load from removable drives first was active.

I had accidentally left my USB thumb drive, containing a load of mp3's, plugged in, and the system tried to boot
from it. As soon as I pulled the drive, the system returned to normal.
