Just wondering if there is a good program to control fan speed in Ubuntu? I tried using Speedfan with Wine, but no luck there.

I'm using an A8N-SLI Premium, with a Athlon 3700+. My CPU runs at 38C - 40C (with 1.5V!! Shocked ). I just want to quiet the machine down a bit.

Thanks,

There's a guide here for Edgy, it should work the same on Hardy :-

Hmm...No luck. This is the message I keep getting.

Quote:
/usr/sbin/pwmconfig: There are no pwm-capable sensor modules installed

I went through the first part. It added a bunch of sensors. I have them for the different cores, MB Temp, GPU temp, and various fan RPM's. I'm just not able to control them.

Any other suggestions? I do have a fan control device. Maybe thats the route I'm going to have to take.

Other than that, the PWM on your board just might not be supported just yet.
