Fernando or TwL,

Love the forums btw just registered have been reading through here for a while. I just picked up this new evga 790i ultra sli board and will be running 2 80gb wd raptors in a raid 0. What would be the best driver pack for max performance and stability for this board. The WHQL pack or the Performance Pack?

The best pack for you will be the "Performance Pack", because it contain the nForce IDE drivers v9.99.09 in combination with the Ethernet drivers v67.80, which is currently the best possible combination regarding stability and performance.

Unfortunately you didn't post into one of the "sticky" threads (about XP and Vista packs). So we don't know the OS you are going to install.

Thanks for replying Fernando. I will be installing vista x64 onto the raptors. Also could i use a WHQL version of the 9.99.09 instead of your modded ones and get the same result ? Don't know if there is a set of 9.99.09 WHQL drivers for the 790i around anywhere do you ? Let me know your thoughts...
Will be doing from a clean install... Then should i run the setup file after vista is installed ?

I am nearly sure, that the untouched WHQL signed nForce IDE drivers v9.99.09 do support your chipset.

You can get the 64bit WHQL signed 9.99.09 IDE drivers for Vista x64 from here.
If you want, you can replace the SATARAID and SATA_IDE folders of my "Performance Pack" by these ones.

Yes.
Alternatively you can already load the SATARAID drivers of my small WHQL package while you are installing Vista. Once the Vista installation is completed, you can see, if the WHQL signed drivers do fully support your chipset.

Yea i checked they do. Besides the WHQL signature are your modified ones in the performance pack any different or are they the same? You think the 10 series WHQL driver in the reliability pack would be faster or better since its newer. Let me know your thoughts fernando.... Thanks again for all you help.

LiQuID Very Happy

The modified nForce IDE drivers v9.99.09 of my "Performance Packs" are exactly the same as the original nForce IDE drivers of NVIDIA's 9.64 packs. The only difference is, that I have added some missing HardwareID's within the INF files to make these perfectly running drivers usable for all NF4-7 chipsets.

No, the 9.99.09 drivers are as rock stable as the 10.3.0.21 ones, but have a better performance, especially if used together with the nForce Ethernet driver v67.80 (findings published by TwL).
