Can I somehow plug a tuner into the back of the set top box and use it to decode whilst using my tuner to record? Or does that depend on the exact hardware?

I 'think' you need something like this to decrypt the encrypted stuff (again, I don't know much about US cable :) ) :-

Pulled the trigger on a g-note htpc :). Will post pics once it's assembled. Oh, and that's w/ OS, taxes, and shipping.

Hey boys. Looking to build a new gaming PC to have it done right before diablo 3 hits. What's the best dollar value I'm looking at for performance etc?

I would like to get a whole new 24in monitor and case with one 1TB hard drive and case.

Possible to build something nice for $1,000? If not then it has to be under $1,500. Wifey would never go for it if it were over $1,500.

Would love any suggestions.

Would like to be able to run D3 all the way up and maybe as close to all the way up as possible for the latest titles like Skyrim.

To steal Impar's text, something like this would be what I'd aim for... :sweet:

Case - with 120mm fans
PSU - good brand, at least 40A in 12v
Motherboard - P67/Z68 based
CPU - i5-2500K
RAM - 8GB DDR3 (2x 4GB)
Video card - Nvidia GTX 560 Ti or AMD HD 6950
Storage - Intel SSD + 1TB HDD
Monitor - 24" FullHD

Guys thanks a ton for all of the advice!

I was about to come on here and brag that I got exactly what you suggested but I muffed it up slightly on accident. I went with the 2500k, 8gb, intel SSD, 24" FullHD, the might mobo, PSU and Case... BUUUTT

When I bought the video card I thought I bought the GTX 560 TI but instead I bought this:

Is that even comparable to the TI? s*** :( I don't want to have to return it and do all that. Should be here in a couple days.

Thats an OC card.
"Should" be similar to the one being reviewed here:

Sweet s***! =D>

I was scared to death this thing was going to be drastically inferior. Glad to see its almost on the TI level in every test. But those tests are at 1680x1050 and bought the "trueHD" monitor. nervous about that. Oh well still should rock!
