Not sure; but then I'm on a single core laptop :(

However, core allocation should be handled like any other set of separate processes. This is one of the reasons they used multi-processing rather than multi-threading. Let the OS do the hard work of core allocation and memory management, rather than trying to code it into the browser.

Worth to read to find out what other services have in EULAs:
The Google Chrome EULA debacle: Whose content is it, anyway?

Yesterday, Google made some quick changes to the terms of service for its new Chrome Web browser beta, to alleviate users' fears of misuse of their data. But how many other similar EULAs cast suspicion on the services they cover?

Can a browser’s search function work too well? After playing around with Google’s brand new Chrome browser, we’ve discovered that its history search box will fetch all types of data - even text from HTTPS-protected financial sites like Washington Mutual and Capital One. With a few utterly simple keywords like balance, account and Sept., everything from balance information, account numbers and even how much you spent at Costco can be pulled up.

Greetings!

Chrome antics: did Google reverse-engineer Windows?

Since its release a few weeks ago, curious developers have been sniffing through the source code for Google's new Chrome web browser. Chrome's source is interesting for a variety of reasons: there's the new V8 JavaScript virtual machine with its boasts of near-native code performance, the WebKit rendering engine that does all the hard work of understanding and displaying web pages, and (last but not least), Chrome's secure sandbox designed to minimize the impact of any security flaws that might exist in both the browser and plugins alike. It is this secure sandbox that has piqued the curiosity of some observers, and for a reason that many may find surprising. From reading the source, it looks as though Google has reverse-engineered Windows, and that's explicitly prohibited by the Windows EULA.

Iron: Chrome for privacy fanatics

If you want to use Google Chrome but are concerned or have questions about Google's policies for collecting usage data, you might want to give Iron a try.

Iron, developed by German software company SRWare is Chrome stripped of all the user ID information that gave the German government cause for concern.

... Iron is essentially the Chromium source code, with the following modifications:

* No unique user-ID
* No user-specific information is sent to Google
* No alternative error messages
* Crash information is not sent to Google
* No Google updater
