AN8SLI Fatal1ty - No IDE RAID found - Vista 64

Postby ronin99 » Mon Dec 22, 2008 4:39 am

I have Vista 64 installed on a single SATA drive.

Trying to setup 2 other IDE disks as Raid 0. I installed the latest drivers from Nvidia (15.23 install). BIOS is setup with Raid 0 with 2 WD IDE 250GB drives. Raid comes up as healthy during the post. Once in Vista 64 the OS doesn't detect the Raid, they are listed as 2 seperate drives. There is no Initialize Disks option in Disk Manager. They are just listed as 2 seperate Basic disks and status ONLINE.

Nothing shows up in the Storage Configuration in the Nvidia Panel.

Couldn't find anything on setting up a Raid after OS is installed on a seperate drive.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

wd ide have funny stand alone jumperless master settings

the jumpered master is only with a slave

so in an ideal world they should be jumperless on end of an ide

i assume they are on seperate ide connectors

this might or might not be relevant

Wonkanoby thanks for the suggestion. I tried a couple of different combo's...both seperate controllers no jumpers...seperate controllers both master....single controller master and slave jumpers....nothing works. I tried different IDE cables...no luck.

Should be so simple, not sure what I am doing wrong.

Again nothing shows up in the Nvidia Control Panel under Sotrage Configuration.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Tried Fernando's drivers and still the IDE Raid is not beign detected. When in Device Manager my 2 IDE disks are listed seperately as DIsk 4 and Disk 5. Both Basic disks and both online.

I tried Fernandos_Vista_64bit_NF4-7_SATA_Performance_Pack_v5.0 and have continued using those drivers.

Under Device Manager under Storage Controllers I have:
- NVIDIA nForce RAID Controller
- NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller
- NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller
All the drivers for these are at 9.99.0.9.

Under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers I have
- ATA Channel 0
- ATA Channel 1
- Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller
The PCI IDE controller is using MS 6.0.6001.18000 drivers. I assume this is for my DVD drive. I tried updating it to 9.99.0.9 but I get the yellow exclamation mark.

Maybe I'll try posting in the drivers forum.
