AMIBCP for Asus Rampage Formula Bios?

Postby UDF2Diablo » Fri Sep 18, 2009 1:44 pm

Hello!

I've been trying to figure out a way of how to edit the failsafe default values in the bios rom file.

Reason why: is because my Ram (Corsair Dominators) won't post when my bios is using the default (failsafe) ram voltage, (1.8v?).
I have to put 1 stick of bog standard DDR2 into my machine in order to boot up, then go into the bios and change the ram voltage to 2.24v.. then save settings and put my corsair ram back in, and only then will my ram boot up. (the LCD poster gets stuck on "DET RAM" if i don't set the ram voltage to 2.24v.)

So basically, my idea is to use AMIBCP to edit the default settings in the rampage formula bios and change the default value for ram voltage to 2.24v! - this way, every time my motherboard detects a boot failure and resets itself to the failsafe defaults, it will always keep my ram voltage set to 2.24v, and allow my PC to boot.

However the problem I am having is that AMIBCP crashes every time i try to open the Rampage Formula bios .rom file!

I've read on some forums saying that Asus have "modified" AMI bioses in their newer boards and that's why they don't load in AMIBCP.

Does anybody here know of a way to get amibcp to load the rampage bios file? or know of another program i can use to edit the failsafe defaults in my bios?

Thanks.
