I still think the HD 6950 has more room to improve driver wise also as it's newer/different tech, whereas the 560 Ti is just an unlocked 460, and is simply relying on brute force.

Swings and roundabouts again really, both have their strengths and weaknesses, but both are very decent for the money.

I'm started to be tempted by the HD 6970 again though, as I'd rather have 2GB (not sure if I can be bothered to wait for the 2GB 560 Ti's... :))

Then again compute power is comparatively weak and not as well supported on AMD hardware (Heck, I bought a HD 5870 initially for the promise of 2TFlops, but I'm still waiting for anything interesting that can be bothered to use it... I just wish they would get their s*** together on this aspect)

Hell is freezing over, Charlie recommends not to buy a HD 6990...

No really, you should not buy one of these cards, go get two 6950s or 6970s instead, The 6990 has a fatal flaw, and it is simply due to an AMD decision, not hardware or software. If you flip that switch, you void your warranty. No really, you do. When I said that it wasn’t the case, I was flat out wrong.
