The new 6.10.02.6480 from Asus here didnt work, modded them, worked , but i couldn´t select andrea optimizings.

Sooo i just Downloaded the same from Sonic site modded them and andrea worked ^^

You need to switch back and forth in the recording settings, then the tab will show up, just trial and error ^^ i cant explain that good how lol...

I just changed the hardware id within the ini from the line of the adi1988 to my hardware id, coz i got a adi1988B.

Look inside the ini an check if it matches your id, just open your soundcard in hardware manager, click on details and then select from the dropdown menu hardware id, just in case , not everyone knows dat.

You finde the line in the ini ADIHdAud.inf , either in the i386 or amd64 folder, the line looks like this :

%HdAudioFunctionDriver.ADICodec.DeviceDesc% = A1988, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_11D4&DEV_198B&SUBSYS_10438266

Try if some other adi in the file fits for you, because it reads where your jacks are out of the platform.cfg (I THINK IM NOT SHURE ^^)

Ok, i modded it myself for a Asus P5N-T Deluxe, here you go

http://rapidshare.com/files/132731602/A ... Deluxe.rar

Sorry if you have any misunderstandings in my writings, but im from germany and i dont care so much of grammatics, im just writing with my feeling and i think im riding good with it..... ^^

@zarkieman

great work there. hopefully will help some...

@commonly

Installing the control panel setups v6.10.02.6480...

speakers + subwoofer (+ center etc).. > install SoundMAX drivers

1. go to control Panel > activate 5.1 Audio, (if anything else but 7.1 or simply stereo and, if headphones only even then 5.1).

2. go to windows Control Panel > Sound > right click the speakers > configure > remove the outputs which you don't have (If oyu don't have Center uncheck the center, same with Rear speakers & surround and so on).

3. if you are attaching headphones & wanna separate them > do it in control panel BEFORE attaching the headphones > reboot > attach headphones, if not separating them then simply attach..

4. Finally add up the DSP from control panel.

My problem is this:

I have Asus M2N32 SLI Deluxe WiFi with Win Vista ultimate 32 bit

And I can only install 6.10.02.6400 audio drivers, and it works fine.
But I would like to install last version, 6.10.02.6480, and i get this...

Image

Anyone?

thx

@Scorpius and any other readers having problems installing the 6.10.2.6480 package on any variation of the M2N32 with the ADI 1988B audio system:

I tried the direct download from the first page, and I got the exact same message as ScorpiusCRO - the drivers would not install. To fix it, I simply had to add the 1988B Device ID to the "ADIHdAud.inf". I did this for both the vista64 and vista32 .inf files.

Also, I had to add the line for our 1988B to the "package.cfg" file in order to get it to work.

I am using Vista 64, setup installed perfectly, all options in the Soundmax control panel are fully functional and the new control panel looks very nice!! This package should work under Vista32 as well, because I fixed both the 64 and 32 .inf files.

I am sharing the modified package in case anybody out there needs it for their 1988B-equipped system. Although I have the Asus m2n32 SLI, it is possible that this package will work for other boards using the ADI 1988B audio system:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jqusxjipmbv

If there is anyone else with the 1988B and perhaps a different motherboard, and this package does not work for you, please reply and I will see if I can update the .inf files to get it working for you.

Best wishes folks, and greetings from NYC! :)

little reminder here.

there is no system where you couldn't FORCE the drivers in. XP does it with simply device manager > update > browse > have disk.. > choose the drivers from Soundmax paths..

Vista does that exact same as long you don't allow vista update do anything in process and what ever says 'recommended' circle far away. It'll go in.. I can even force Ac'97 on my HD audio ofcourse problem is it wouldn't work, but the point is you can install what ever control panel you wish and update drivers through device manager.

Ideally modified drivers and this is exactly same deal. So there is no need to modify as you do not have correct pointing config for the earlier devices anyway.

Well, that is the problem that I was having. The installer did not work, and "forcing" the install via the device manager did not work either. So, after I added the correct hardware ID information, both install methods worked perfectly.

Yeah, that is weird, but I actually tested this and you are correct. This has some kinda flop by system. When ID's are not there it simply doesn't work. So my bad.. It looks like HardwareID's are nessessary for SoundMAX ADI to work even when those could get installed by device manager.

Hello,

I have Asus M2N-MX card that uses AD1986A sound card.

My problem is i can't play any game or any movie because of the audiodg.exe problem. i tried a lot of drivers and workarounds found on google and i still can't fix it.

Read the topic but didn't come to a solution.

So my question is: Is there anyway to make the card work under vista32 (i use headphones) ?

@enterthewutang
Thx :D

But now, there's another problem.
For same reason, I don't have EAX support.

Here you can see it...
I've searching over the net, but I haven't found solution for the problem.

@Antero

I doubt that your issue is on Audiodg.exe, but in codecs. The Handle counts only stresses they don't affect entire sounds missing.

About headphones yeah, Sure, Switch on the separate headphones (If you use speakers and headphones) Headphones will appear on control panel Audio panel after they are separated. You'll find the separate on Soundmax control panel. Otherwise you should simply use the green plugin as basically when you listen on actual headphones plugin sound simply is too low at least for my hearing experience.

@ScorpiusCRO

Wouldn't trust everest on that one. Test it with something else.
