Yeah...it's called AFUDOS for this MB (AMI Bios) but it works the same way as the Award DOS flasher. Some hints...

1. The BIOS is big so you'll have to remove some of the non-essential crap from the boot floppy WinXP makes in order to fit the BIOS and AFUDOS in there. Just keep the essential files: msdos.sys, io.sys and command.com...all 3 of which are hidden files.

2. Before flashing--load set-up defaults and reboot. Then you can flash.

3. After flashing-- load set-up defaults and reboot again before making adjustments...that should do it.

You might also want to have a look at Xtremesystems...That is, if you want to know how high people are getting away with-- 1.55v with watercooling seems to be pretty common.

Lots of info in the two X2 Overclocking sticky threads: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/for ... y.php?f=58

Hey, this post is awesome, but im still totally confused beyond belief about what to do. My specs are as follows;

Asus a8n32
Fx-55
2gb OCZ pc5000 gold series ram (500mhz)
BFG 7900gtx 512 OC
480watt enermax coolergiant

Im trying to overclock my ram, if i leave my cpu at stock settings (200x13, 2.6ghz), and all my ram settings on auto apart from frequency, which is set at 250, and boot up, CPU-Z records my ram at 237.2mhz, not the 250 which it should calculate to using the formula you have posted (fsbx(freq/sb>nb)). I really don't understand this and yes i am a complete noob when it comes to ram overclocking.

I have had a friend trying to help me out (and he knows what he is doing) and we are still stumped. Thanx in advance.

Welcome to nForcersHQ ShanonDocleaf.

Enter the ram's timings into the BIOS and post back what it reads afterwards.

A functional or current BIOS in use? BIOS version? Version of CPU-Z?

CPU-Z screenshots or posting the BIOS settings would be most helpful.

This is my first post here. I just wanted to say that I have look all over for a guide to OCing the A8N32-sli and couldnt find anything. Then I ran up on this site and I have to say that this is the the best guide I have read so far.
Thanks

Hey guys I have been a member here for years but i had to re-register for some reason, mainly I could not remember my account name and my email addy that I used when I registered-forgive me.

Anyway I have a few Asus boards (A8N-SLI Deluxe, A8N-SLI Premium, and this A8N32-SLI Deluxe) all of them are up and running as we speak, and all are overclocked to some degree or another.

The A8N32-SLI is the one i am having problems with, I cannot overclock it manually as it seems some of the manual adjustments are greyed out.
I printed out the post at the head of this topic to use as a guide and I can get some of the settings input but when it comes to CPU multiplier I simply cannot access it, as it is set at 11x and greyed out.
System specs are follows:
A8N32 w/bios 1205
X2-4400
Crucial Ballistix PC4000 (2x 1 gb)
EVGA 7900 GT-KO
Water cooled CPU/GPU
I am really not this lame normally, but I am lost here as to why these setting are unavailable to me? I have the system set to OC automatically (+10%) just to see what the temps would be like and I did set everything to manual that was listed in the post, to try and get a manual oc, I know this board is capable of much more as is this particular CPU, and I am not sure about the memory as this is my first experience with high end Crucial (Corsair in all my other rigs) but I could sure use some help here.
Let me know what you think may be my blindness here.
thanks
