A8N-SLI works fine under XP, but under Vista when there is heavy hard disk access the mouse stutters.

AFAIK this is due to deferred procedure calls (i.e. when the harddisk interrupts come in the driver handles them wrong taking away time from other processing).

The nForce Serial ATA controller is version 5.10.2600.998 which is the SATA IDE driver version 9.98.
I also have a nforce4 PCI-express root port version 5.1.2600.445 - too old?
nforce PCI system management is 4.6.0.0.
nforce Hyper transport bridge 6.0.6001.17128.


I am using a 160GB Seagate HDD and a 500GB Hitachi (for OS and docs respectively).

What could be the reason? Should I upgrade any drivers?

Conflicting IRQs? Vista doesn't report any in the device manager.
