Thanks to this post.
CBROM
ASUS BIOS 1303
SIL 3114 BIOS 5.4.0.3
> Unpack all to same directory (you only need the 5403.BIN file from the SI zip).
> From DOS prompt:
- CBROM32 1303.BIN /PCI RELEASE
(select option D - will remove the older 5.1.3.4 bios)
- CBROM32 1303.BIN /PCI 5403.BIN
> Flash bios (used ASUSUpdate 7.11.03 here)
By the way, the 1303 BIOS was only released recently, however its not a new new file, I assume simply a small update of the last beta from 2006 which was never released until now).
Cheers,
-jj- |

I had heard that the 5.60 was the latest one that worked with the A8N-SLI Prm boards ... I could be wrong, but I think that's as far as it goes. |

| What I want is the 1303 with the Sil RAID bios replaced with the non raid version - can this be done? |

| You can run single drives on the SiI3114r5 controller with the 5.4.0.3 BIOS. I have a SATA DVD-RW and 2 random SATA HDDs (not in raid) running on it just fine. What issues are you running into that you need the non-raid BIOS? |

| I've got 2 Sata DVD/RW's on it now - they're okay - the thing it doesn't like is ESata drives - so wanting to try the non RAID for that as such |

I used this technique to flash the latest mainboard bios for my a8n-sli-deluxe, but with newer 3114 bios.
Very cool.
Didn't fix my problem though. But my problems turns out not to be software related. |

Hello,
Using the instructions above, I have upgraded my A8N-SLI Premium to bios 1303 and the SI 3114 to 5.4.0.3.
I am trying to attach a SATA disk drive to the SI controller without running a RAID or JBOD. When the computer boots, the SI 3114 controller recognizes the hard drive attached to it, and it just sits there, never loading windows. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? When I look in the SI BIOS, it seems that all I can do is create a RAID or JBOD, which I don't want to do. I have the SI controller enabled in the Asus bios, which appears to be the only option I have in that bios.
Thanks! |

| Have you rechecked your boot order? The disk on the Sil may have kicked out the boot disk (which is presumably on the Nvidia ports) |
