System specs:
ASUS A7N8X Rev. 2.00
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
GeForce 6600GT 128mb
400 Watt PSU
etc etc...
I have a 1gb PC3200 non-ECC stick that I want to put in my A7N8X. Unless I am blind and/or dumb, this type of ram should be compatible with this particular motherboard. I have been running on PC2100, and I got this as a long overdue upgrade.
But, for some reason, when I put it in my system and start it up, it gives me a sequence of long single beeps. From what I have gathered, that is my motherboard saying "NO, I DON'T LIKE YOUR RAM," but I have been reading up on it and apparently it should support this type of memory.
I flashed my bios from 1007 to 1010 in hopes that it might resolve the issue, but to no avail. I have fiddled with the memory timing and whatnot, but that seemed to not have any effect, although I may not be putting in the correct values.
Help.
