A7N8X Deluxe Boot from SATA DVD Burner???

Hello All,

I really have searched for an answer before I posted but I'm not actually finding anything definitive... I have an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe and I just hooked-up a Lite-On LH-20A1S DVD burner to PRI SATA_1 but I can't boot from the drive. The RAID firmware recognizes the drive but basically wants a RAID setup or nothing. I was looking to setup 4 IDE drives on the IDE channels and then the DVD burner on SATA. I use the system for testing my custom installation boot DVD's but this hardware change has me at a standstill... any help would be appreciated.

Look for a firmware update for your Lite-On DVD burner. If this doesn't help, I would it bring back to the dealer where you got it.
I had exactly the same issue with my S-ATA connected LG DVD burner. Since I have a Samsung S-ATA DVD drive, all problems are gone.
