Fans Mob Celebration III Star Wars Event

More than 30,000 fans have attended the largest official Star Wars convention in the US – 28 years after the first film was released. Star Wars director George Lucas was the main attraction at Celebration III, which was held in Indianapolis.

“I am amazed at how this has had such an effect on people across the world. It’s really gratifying,” said Lucas.

The event came ahead of the release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, which opens on May 19. Lucasfilm is releasing the film worldwide on the same day to combat movie piracy, except for Japan, where it opens in July.
