We managed to see some early prototypes of Nforce 4 SLI and MicroATX Nforce 4 SLI boards. As was the case before, some of Nvidia’s contracting companies are going to make motherboards for EVGA and these guys will brand them and choose what to pack in the box. I would say it’s a similar concept to Leadtek’s motherboard business.
EVGA don’t plan to stop with two Nforce 4 motherboards as it wants to expand its line for the Intel platform as soon as that’s available. Naturally it wants to go for Nvidia only as it has such a great relationship with the mighty Graphzilla.
So as soon as Nvidia goes Nforce 5, EVGA will go for it as well. It’s expected that the company will offer both mainstream and performance motherboards and we know that everyone is anxious to offer SLI motherboards for Intel platforms. That will surely widen sales and the market opportunity for Nvidia cards capable of SLI.
