Epox Turns Into Supox?

June 27th 2007 | General

According to rumours around the Internet, once famous mainboard maker Epox has went out of business and its employees flee to form the new company named Supox. Epox has been struggling to survive for a long time and it is not a big surprise that it is gone now.

The whole mainboad product lineup of Supox resembles that of Epox, though, there are some additions too. Therefore, it can be expected that Supox does have ties with Epox, even though it is not completely clear whether the company, which was established back in April now owns manufacturing capacities of Epox, or just holds some intellectual property rights.

Epox became well-known among computer enthusiasts back in early 2000s, when its motherboards featuring Nvidia nForce2- and Via KT400-series chipsets became popular for their quality, overclocking capabilities and relatively affordable price.

Nowadays it is very hard for small producers of computer hardware to survive on the market and a lot of them either vanish into thin air, or get acquired by larger players.
