AMDZone takes a look at the EPoX 8NPA SLI nForce4 SLI Socket 754 motherboard. Will this be the board to bring SLI to the masses?
Epox has gambled on pairing the nForce 4 SLI chipset with the now budget aimed Socket 754 CPU. Will this gamble pay off? Well with games graphic cards limited today putting more money into the video makes sense, and this board will help you do that. It does lose some features of its Socket 939 big brother, but it retains good overclocking possibilities.
Certainly pairing it with a Sempron Paris core CPU, and the new 6800GS could give you a pretty powerful gaming setup with SLI upgrade potential for not too far North of $500 if you pick your components wisely. Hopefully these boards will be available soon, and a price under $100 will be nice. If you are a budget gamer with a taste for SLI then the Epox 8NPA SLI is the board for you!
