Enermax Silver UC-A5FATR2 Panel Review

February 10th 2004 | Cases & Acc.

Enermax has produced some fine products over the years including their cases and power supplies. Today I’ve got one of their combination Rheobus/LCD panels that fit in a 5 1/4" bay to check out. The unit comes in 3 colors: Beige, Black, and Silver which is the one I decided on to match my Silver Chieftec case. On the left side of the front panel are the knobs that allow control of up to 6 fans, each channel is capable of up to .8 amps or 10 watts according to the spec sheet so this should be plenty of juice for the average user. The LCD readout will show 2 different temperatures and 2 different fan rpms and the 3 buttons along the right side are for setting the temperature and fan alarms.

..The silver is good looking and the fan controls work as advertised, I have Vantec Stealth fans installed which are quiet anyhow and for just browsing the web with the controls turned down, the PC is almost silent and being able to turn them up while gaming is definitely a plus. The temperature readouts seems accurate enough, and the LCD is easy to read without being on top of it. I’ll give this an 7/10 mostly because of the manual and alarm settings, it’s not that hard to figure out setting it up, but considering Enermax makes some great products, more time should have been used in the instructions and functions.
