The T3065 comes with a 2.1 AMD Athlon 3000+ XP processor, coupled with a 333 MHz front-side bus. Not many other PC manufacturers utilize AMD processors for their business machines, but while Intel and AMD chips have their respective advantages and drawbacks, both companies’ processors are more than adequate for typical business needs.
In order to make the most of the Athlon processor, eMachines has implemented the nVIDIA nForce 2 chip in the T3065. By utilizing the nForce2 chipset, eMachines has also committed itself to using nVIDIA for video and audio cards. Thus, the T3065 comes with the nVIDIA GeForce4 MX graphics card and the nForce 6-channel audio card. Don’t expect to get the highest-quality graphics and sound from this system; but for daily use, the nVIDIA video and audio setup is more than adequate.
…The eMachines T3065 is available at many local retail stores, including Best Buy , for a price of US$569 after rebate. The system is also one of the cheapest business computers available, making the T3065 very desirable for budget shoppers. For I.T. purchasers who are shopping for a bargain, above all, the eMachines T3065 is hard to beat. With the acquisition of eMachines by Gateway, you can also expect the backing and support you would receive from a large corporation. On the other hand, if you’re looking for the reassurance of a name-brand computer, a Dell or IBM system may better suit your needs.
