Press release - Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) today announced the release of its PF5 Extreme motherboard. Supporting LGA775 socket / FSB 1066 MHz, the PF5 Extreme leverages Intel’s 945P chipset to deliver exceptional performance and is packed with all the innovations that today’s technology has to offer.
In order to optimise PC performance, the ECS PF5 Extreme includes two extreme overclocking features: I.O.C. (Instant Overclocking Controller) and ECSonic II. I.O.C. enables the system to automatically boost frequency to enhance overall performance by intelligently detecting the CPU loads. On the other hand, ECSonic II allows users to adjust the overclocking of the frequency or voltage on CPU, PCI Express x16 slots and DIMMs by themselves. The combination of I.O.C. and ECSonic II provides users with the utmost overclocking flexibility.
The PF5 Extreme’s exciting features include Scalable D.G.E., providing increased, supercharged 3D graphics and performance. Not only can Scalable D.G.E. allow two different graphic cards to generate the dual 3D graphics display independently, but also supports display on up to four devices simultaneously.
Paired with the Intel ICH7R south bridge, the PF5 Extreme provides Matrix RAID (0, 1, 0+1 and 5) and a total of six SATA ports to deliver both performance and safety. Additional exclusive features and value include Dual Core, EM64T, eSATA, Port Multiplier function, SATAII with NCQ and dual channel DDR2-667 memory architecture. Users can experience cutting-edge performance with the PF5 Extreme.
The launch of the PF5 Extreme comes just days after a report published by Deutsche Bank entitled ‘Taiwan Tech Hardware - Expect higher 2Q MB shipments’, positions ECS as the number 2 global motherboard manufacturer in terms of volume for April 2005. The results confirm ECS’ commitment to strengthen its position as a global leader in the manufacture of cutting edge, value for money, motherboard technology.
