There are hardly any motherboards that are based on the nForce4 x16 chipset that are already out. In fact, we can’t think of any other board except for ASUS and for this, ECS needs to be commended. The KN2-SLI is a mixed bag as far as our opinion goes. We really don’t see the need for the S.D.G.E interface with the KN2-SLI and are of the opinion that it blocks the air flow as well as increase latencies to the chipset and looking at the performance numbers, we do see some erratic results in gaming. In fact, the reason for the less than stellar overclocking might also have something to do with the S.D.G.E. interface.
We do like the onboard features such as the additional SATA ports and ECS’ TopHat solution for recovering the BIOS which works well as we did lose the BIOS while flashing inside windows. ECS also does a great job with the packaging- the included 3.5” bay for front ports is nice and so it the included software bundle and the Ethernet cable.
