DRAM Contract Prices To Rise

June 16th 2003 | Memory

DRAM makers expect contract prices for the second half of June for 256MB DRAM modules to rise to US$34-38, or US$4.00-4.50 per DRAM die, up by as much as 15% from the previous period, the newspaper said.

In the first half of June, the contract price of 256Mbit DDR ranged between a low of US$3.50 and a high of US$3.90, up by 2.94% and 2.63% respectively from the previous fortnight, according to DRAMeXchange.

But analysts believe the DRAM makers may be too optimistic. Crystal Lee, strategy marketing and PR manager at DRAMeXchange, believes that contract prices for the second half of June could rise by a little over 10% and believes the 15% figure is exaggerated.
