Akiba has details of Maxtor’s ‘DiamondMax Plus 9′ series
Serial ATA 120GB HDD (model ‘6Y120M0′) retailing at USER’S SIDE in Japan.
Unless you read japanese you’ll need a translator (babelfish):
“this product is sold only by the card and the
set for the OEM version”, and purchase with an HDD single article cannot
be performed. It is the set with the Serial ATA interface card made from PROMISE
“SATA150X2plus” which can come to hand at a low price at the said store,
and the street price in this case is 32,780 yen.”
¥32,780 JPY (265 EUR, £167 GBP, $270 USD)Which roughly re-translated (I think) means it has to be bought with a Serial
ATA RAID controller card. Here’s a few of the prices listed:
Promise
SATA150 TX2plus - ¥32,780 (265 EUR)
Highpoint RocketRAID
1520 - ¥38,600 (311 EUR)
3Ware 8500-12
- ¥163,000.00 ( 1,322 EUR)
