DFI - DFI LANPARTY UT nF3 250Gb Motherboard Review

November 24th 2004 | Hardware

If owning a fully-fledged 64-bit processor just isn’t enough prestige for you, then buy a motherboard that will drive it until the transistors squeal for mercy. That was easier said than done until now, but finally we have a motherboard that can push the Athlon64 beyond its already respecatable stock performance. For a company that built their kingdom on no-frills OEM products made with a leaning towards low returns rather than high performance, DFI have created a genuinely impressive motherboard that should leave even the most anal of users wanting for nothing.

A ridiculously complete BIOS, a fully functioning and effective PCI lock and a pleasing design are just the obvious selling point for a motherboard that’s particularly hard to fault in any given area. Perhaps the one inclusion i’d have liked would be some kind of dual BIOS/backup BIOS system, particularly when it’s so easy to get lost in the sea of settings, but otherwise I genuinely feel DFI have set the gold standard for dragging your Athlon64 kicking and screaming into the enthusiast arena. Get saving, you’ll love it!
