DFI - DFI LAN Party NFII Ultra Review

August 30th 2003 | Hardware

The DFI Lan Party NFII Ultra motherboard is a great performer. The new "Ultra" version of the nVIDIA nForce 2 chipset definitely out performs the original NFII, and is the best AMD Athlon chipset available. When coupled with a good overclocking processor such as the AMD Barton core 2500+, it’s pretty hard to beat. The LAN Party NFII Ultra’s stability is incredible, even when when running a 230 mhz FSB with fast 7-2-2-2 ram timings. I experienced no odd behaviors, rebooting or crashes in weeks of testing. This review was written and the photos were edited on the overclocked test system without a glitch. The board layout is very good, and the bundle is second to none. Audio performance is excellent, making a separate sound card unnecessary. DFI has really gone the extra mile, and produced a terrific, world class product. In no way did this board disappoint. Oh, and did I mention that all the bundled goodies are great too? We highly recommend this motherboard for any enthusiast.
