With Dell recently announcing lower prices for its LCD TVs, iSuppli warns of a looming price war in the LCD TV market in the second half of the year.
Dell has dropped the prices for its 30- and 26-inch LCD TVs by as much as 10% to US$1,799 and US$1,499, according to TMCnet. Although panel makers such as LG.Philips LCD and Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) plan to increase prices for their 32-inch LCD TV panels amid strong demand, iSuppli pointed out that it is unlikely that panel makers will be able to maintain price increases in the long run.
