Crucial PC3200 DDR400 Memory Review

Tweaknews has reviewed Crucial PC3200 DDR400 memory:

Today I will be reviewing Crucial’s PC3200 DDR400 memory. It is supposed to perform fantastically, yet carries a very small price tag. I received two identical 512MB memory modules and will be running them in single and dual channel mode. This is only possible if your motherboard supports it. Crucial isn’t touting this package as a Dual Channel Memory Kit, which is nice. What a lot of people don’t realize is that Dual Channel Memory Kits are just identical sticks of single channel RAM which have ’sometimes’ been tested to ensure there are no errors when they are inserted into a motherboard which supports dual channel configurations.

. . . Crucial offers a fantastic product for mainstream users. Its memory is stable and reliable. It is not meant to overclock, yet I was still able to get a nice boost without damaging the modules. The temperatures remained warm (not hot) even without the use of heatspreaders. If you are looking for solid performing memory, look no further than Crucial. They are inexpensive, and have a life-time warranty. Honestly, what more could the average user want. The PC3200 DDR400 line from Crucial gets a Top Rank award, not because it beat out all of the competition, but because it far exceeded what it set out to do… and that is to be a fantastic, reliable solution for the mainstream market.
