Crucial 32GB Solid State Drive Review

The Crucial SSD device has many advantages over mechanical drives. For a start there is better shock resistance, much lower power consumption, considerably less heat dissipation and far greater reliability. However it has a great advantage over the first generation MLC NAND SSD drives as well; as it is considerably faster. The first MLC drives would struggle to maintain a constant read speed of 20MB/s, while the Crucial SSD is 6 times faster than that. It can easily outperform high performance desktop mechanical HDDs, so it is safe to conclude that its performance will crush any 2.5" laptop mechanical drives which are considerably slower.

Unfortunately the outlay is a very limiting factor for those thinking of purchasing a high performance SSD drive. It certainly is very fast and virtually indestructible, but at the same time it is extremely expensive. If ultimate speed is the all important factor to you however then the Crucial 32GB SSD drive will certainly not let you down.
