As reported here earlier, memory manufacturer Corsair has teamed up with an automobile company to produce HydroCool200, a new water cooling solution aimed at PC users. Here’s the press release from co-developer Delphi, experts in mobile electronics, transportation components and systems technology:
LOCKPORT, N.Y., - Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems, a part of Delphi Corporation (NYSE: DPH), continues to diversify its non- automotive growth with the introduction of products targeted for the electronics cooling industry. The debut of the Delphi ECS Liquid Cooling System at the CeBit Technology Show (March 12-19) in Hanover, Germany is the next family of products in a line of Delphi Electronics Cooling Systems (ECS).
Delphi and Corsair Memory Inc., the California-based maker of the world’s fastest computer memory products, have formed a business arrangement through which this product was co-developed and ultimately marketed by Corsair as its XMS HydroCool200 Xtreme Water Cooling System (the product also displays the Delphi brandmark). The Delphi ECS Liquid Cooling System is a chassis independent, high efficiency, self contained liquid cooling system designed to provide optimal cooling under high performance thermal loads — without generating excessive noise levels. The product is targeted for Personal Computer (PC) customer segments, such as the enthusiasts’ video gaming market, where thermal heat loads from user-modified microprocessors may exceed the capabilities of today’s traditional air-cooling solutions.
The product’s underlying thermal design was executed by Delphi while Corsair designed the electronic monitoring controls and user-defined operations. “The result is one of the most advanced, and based on benchmarking, the highest performing (200 watt heat load capability) liquid cooling systems on the market today,” said Ray Johnson, Global Business Line Executive, Delphi Thermal Solutions. “Delphi’s particular expertise in liquid cooling technologies has now been successfully applied to electronics products and other commercial applications of this technology are in the works.”
