The silent system. It’s the dream of many enthusiasts but it is easier said than done. Many people go the way of bigger fans and lower rpms for less noise but the key sticking point has always been the power supply. Power supplies generate a fair amount of heat and they need a fan to keep things cool. Well, at least they did. Coolmax has just introduced a fanless power supply. No fan = No noise. Great! But what about the heat???? That’s what we are going to find out today when we put this unit to the test.
…Overall, this unit is a real performer. Coolmax is able to provide a completely silent power supply with a very slight increase in temperature. If we hadn’t seen it we would not have believed it. If you are trying to make a completely silent system or are just in the market for a new power supply, check out Coolmax’s silent power supply. It’s everything you would expect from a high end power supply…but quieter. Score: 9/10
