CHAINTECH - Chaintech Zenith CT-7NJS Review @ Processor-Emporium

January 23rd 2003 | CPUs & Chipsets

Processor-Emporium UK takes a look at the Chaintech Zenith 7NJS (nForce2 SPP/MCP-T) and, after finding only a few minor gripes mainly regarding the lack of POST screen system details, gives it the PE Gold Award and an overall rating of 97% summing it up as a ‘fantastic board, with a fantastic chipset bundled with a great package’. Here’s a clip from the review:

“Chaintech have also taken the time and effort to put together a package which is comparable to the superb offerings we are used to seeing with the Soyo DRAGON series of motherboards. The CBox 2 is genuinely useful in that it gives users four additional USB 2.0 sockets along with a front panel Firewire port and sound jacks. Essentially users do not need to scramble around the back of their PC for these features. There is also a P80P debug display on the CBox 2 which can be monitored during boot time for any errors. There are also some very nice rounded cables in yellow (to match the PCI slots). The provision of the Firewire card though in our opinion has managed to set this package apart from it’s rivals. That said an impressive package would not be enough had Chaintech built a board which had flaws or poor performance. Thankfully the CT-7NJS Zenith has managed to deliver superb performance along with possibly the highest levels of stability we have seen from a Socket A board to date. If anything the CT-7NJS is as stable as any Intel chipset motherboard we have seen in recent reviews, which given the high quality of boards like the Soyo SY-P4I 845PE is extremely impressive.”
