ATI managed to fix some bugs and to speed some gamea in this current release. In Half Life 2, ATI improved up to 20 per cent in certain sections of the game. Not bad for a driver update. Some Direct 3D games will gain two to three per cent at lower resolutions while some 3Dmark05 tests will gain up to 15 per cent on some cards.
In OpenGL, some games such as Wolfenstein Enemy territory will gain up to 15 per cent at lower resolutions while Doom III performance will improve five to ten per cent at lower settings. Call of Duty improves five to six per cent, at least that’s what ATI claims.
Apart from this, X850 and Radeon Xpress 200 chipsets got official support as well and Overdrive 3 support for X850 card is in the driver and happily WHQLd. ATI fixed many game problems and you can check the list here.
