Despite the lack of innovation, this is still a fantastic game; probably the best that the XBOX 360 has to offer at the moment. You’ll accomplish the first-person shooter essentials by sneaking your way through Stalingrad, braving the sandstorms of North Africa, and meandering the hills of France. Call of Duty 2 has got everything you could ask for in a WWII shooter and, beyond that, all the features that guarantee success in any FPS.
What Call of Duty 2 means to XBOX 360 might not equal what Halo meant to XBOX, but it is a close to a killer-app as you will find for the XBOX 360. The single player is fun, immersive, and will rattle your mind. Multiplayer, while hounded with problems, is very fun at its core. Combine the two and you have a very good game. The next generation of videogaming has arrived thanks in large part to Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 2.
