Biostar TF7050-M2 Motherboard Review (NVIDIA GeForce 7050PV)

August 14th 2007 | nForce 600

The Nvidia 7025 and 7050PV series integrated graphics chipset is the Jolly Green Giant’s response to AMD’s successful RS690 chipset. It might still be using the same graphics core as the GeForce 6150 chipset, however it does include an updated video processing engine and southbridge integrated into a single chip.

Biostar does both GeForce 7050PV and GeForce 7025 variants of the motherboard, with the “50″ being the more fully featured of the two, thanks to the inclusion of HDMI, HDMI audio and TV out on-board. The GeForce 7025 variant just offers VGA and DVI but still comes with HDCP.

..At the end of the day, for £45 [$72.00 - $85.00] this board is inexpensive as opposed to cheap. It’s a quality product with a lot going for it, even though it doesn’t have the full package and some socket placements are a bit iffy. If you can live with just 720p or 1080i (providing you aren’t using an LCD HDTV with the latter) then it can play back both HD DVD and Blu-ray discs as long as you’re willing to shell out for the expensive player on top.
