Biostar TF680i SLI Deluxe (NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI) Review

November 27th 2006 | nForce 600

If the Biostar TF680i SLI Deluxe is anything to go by, NVIDIA made a good decision to contract manufacture OEM nForce 680i SLI motherboards. The down side is that we don’t see these boards being much cheaper than custom designed boards from manufacturers like ASUS or MSI. The good news is that users can pretty much worry less about the quality from different vendors and since all these boards are essentially the same, manufacturers will have to come up with some interesting bundles or features to remain attractive, which will benefit users in the end.

Although the TF680i SLI Deluxe is a stock OEM board, NVIDIA understands that as an enthusiast chipset, the board should not only be feature rich, but perform well too. These are all fulfilled in the Biostar TF680i SLI Deluxe with triple PCIe x16 slots (not to mention the only high-end SLI solution that is viable for the Intel platform), high-end HD Audio CODEC, great connectivity options and the gamut of NVIDIA special features native to the nForce 680i SLI like DualNet, MediaShield, First Packet, SLI Memory and LinkBoost. With the debug LEDs and power/reset buttons on the PCB, the board looks set for power users.
