Auzentech pulled it off. They stuck to their roots, making quality sound cards, while integrating the X-Fi chipset from Creative. This card outperformed the X-Meridian in the synthetic test. More importantly for me, the Prelude beat the X-Meridian in the subjective listening tests.
Lots of sound cards companies out there are looking to take down the giant Creative. Auzentech took a different route, by licensing the X-Fi chipset from Creative and creating the Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1 sound card. This is the first time that Creative has licensed its technology. With this new chipset, the Prelude 7.1 can support EAX 5.0. Future downloads of the drivers will allow for Dolby Digital Live, DTS Interactive and Creative ALchemy support.
