There’s no denying that the X1900XTX is a mighty fast card and with driver updates, will continue to get better- as and when games continue relying heavier on shaders. It came out above the 7800GTX-512 card in most of our tests which is nVidia’s highest offering at the moment - and pretty expensive and hard to find. The X1900XTX on the other hand, should be widely available starting today.
We definitely like the X1900XTX by itself, however, we’re not sure if a Crossfire solution is worth at the moment. While its certainly very fast in some games, we did find it offering very modest gains in others. In fact, the X1800XT CrossFire is probably a better buy at the moment but we would not recommend that either. We feel that a single X1900XTX card is probably the best solution for the high-end gamer at the moment.
