ASUS to Launch Crossfire Motherboard – A8R-MVP

October 11th 2005 | Hardware

TIER ONE motherboard manufacturer Asustech is about to release its first motherboard based on the ATI Crossfire chipset. The board is almost finished and we expect to see it in UK retail and “etail” in the next two weeks. Asus decided to use ATI’s RD 480 north bridge and ULI’s M1575 south bridge. This is the way to get rid of the childhood fever that you can expect from ATI’s south bridge.

The Asus motherboard, called the A8R-MVP, will support all socket 939 CPUs whether they’re Sempr0ns, Athlon 64s or Athlon X2s. It will be equipped with four memory slots supporting 4GB of memory.
